Do you or anyone in your family have any unused spectacles which are still in good condition? Durham Elvet Rotary are now collecting these so that they can be sorted, cleaned, graded, and ultimately shipped to charities in Africa. There, local eye clinics provide sight tests to ensure the specs delivered to each person are optically correct and are the right size and fit.
If you have any spectacles that can be recycled to support this project we currently have two locations where you can drop them into the local collection boxes. These are:
Brandon Community Hall, Brandon Lane, DH7 8PS, and
Bramwells Jewellers, 24 Elvet Bridge, Durham DH1 3AA
Please retain any glass cases.
Thank you!
