Martin needs little introduction having enjoyed an illustrious career as BBC foreign affairs correspondent over a 30 year period, reporting directly from all parts of the world troubled by war and conflict and receiving many accolades for his work. Subsequently Martin entered the political arena, causing something of a sensation by taking the safe seat of Tatton from the Conservatives in 1997. Martin will detail his fascinating career, to include his current post as ambassador for Unicef, and also take audience questions.
With music from Joanna Eden, a highly talented up and coming singer/songwriter and pianist, whose support slots include Jamie Cullum and Buena Vista Social Club. Some of Joanna's songs will feature before Martin returns to "meet the audience".
"An Evening with Martin Bell" is being arranged for the purpose of raising funds to support the work of the Rotary Foundation both at home and abroad.
