SMOKE ALARM PROJECT.

The Rotary Club of Stowmarket Gipping Valley continues to support Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service.

Member Peter Andrews presented the Chief Suffolk Fire Officer John Lacey a cheque of £7500 on behalf of Suffolk Rotary Clubs for the protection of vulnerable people by the installation of fire alarms in their homes.

The scheme was started 7 years ago by the Stowmarket Gipping Valley Rotary Club and has since raised the magnificent amount of £80,000.  With fire service budgets severely stretched by government restrictions on finance this has potentially saved many lives in Suffolk.
