Young Voice of Trowbridge 2014

The second 'Young Voice of Trowbridge' took place on Thursday 13th February 2014 and Trowbridge Wessex Mead Rotary was pleased to be involved once more  - on the organising committee and as one of the event sponsors.

This year the final was hosted by the John of Gaunt school and their students competed with their peers from the Clarendon Academy and St Augustine's Catholic College. School heats had previously been run by all three schools to select their winning teams for this inter-school final.

The Year 8 student topic was: How can our local community encourage healthy living?

The Year 10 student topic was: How can schools become more self-sufficient?

The Year 13 student topic was: How can young adults empower themselves within the community?

All three teams from each year group put forward incisive thoughts, approaching the questions from differing perspectives making it a very interesting evening for the audience. I am glad I was not a judge as they had a very tough job, the presentations being of a very high standard.

But a decision had to be made and the winners were:

Year 8: St Augustine's Catholic College

Year 10: The Clarendon Academy

Year 13: St Augustine's Catholic College
