Enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable, David Hastings is a multi-award winning charity fundraiser and brings over 40 years of RNLI fundraising experience.

David is the Hon. Secretary of the Durham Branch of the RNLI, a small but highly effective, award winning, inland fundraising Branch, based in the City of Durham, which organises fundraising activities in the Durham, Washington and Newcastle areas.

David has organised over 500 fundraising activities since 2001, which have contributed to the Branch raising over £360,000 for the RNLI in that time. David is on the national speakers list for Rotary Great Britain and Ireland and on the speakers list for three WI Federations and two U3A networks.

In the 2017 National Fundraising Awards (which cover the whole of the charity and voluntary sectors across the country) David was shortlisted by the Institute of Fundraising for the “Best Volunteer Fundraiser” award.

In 2019, the business and charity communities voted David “Volunteer Of The Year” in the North East Charity Awards.
