Esk Valley donates a proportion of funds raised to international charities. Our biggest donation to date was In our tenth anniversary year when we paid for a kitchen to be built in Malawi to help Mary's Meals feed a whole school. Every year we buy at least one Shelterbox - in October 2017 we bought 3 boxes to help various natural disasters around the world. We have also sent a Trade Aid box to Kenya. International Service aims to expand Rotary's humanitarian reach around the globe and promote world understanding and peace. 'Rotary International Day' is celebrated on the 20 February.

Because Rotary is found inmore than 200countries and regions worldwide, we are in the unique position of being able to reach people in need all over the planet, from running life-changing projects in developing countries to making an immediate response to disaster-hit regions.

In addition, Rotary also has its own charity - The Rotary Foundation - which funds the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty throughout the world.
