Lighthouse Challenge 2024 - Update

We are delighted to announce that this year’s Lighthouse Challenge generated a surplus of £7,200 after Eventbrite’s fees and the cost of medical support.  We had 1146 participants which was actually an excellent outcome given the weather conditions plus competition from the England European Football Championship quarter-final, and Wimbledon Tennis Championships!!

We use the proceeds to fund our charitable work throughout the year, and also to enable us to donate to worthy local causes including RNLI (Eastbourne), the Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team, SASBAH (Sussex Association for Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus), Chalk Farm Learning Disabilities Centre and many others.  We try wherever possible to direct funds in ways that reach as many people as possible, so you can be assured that your involvement will ultimately benefit a great many others in need and will also help eventually towards the cost of repainting the Lighthouse stripes!

The Lighthouse Challenge is an annual event, so we will undoubtedly be in touch again next year; meantime do please like and follow our club on Facebook (Rotary Club of Eastbourne AM), so we can keep you informed of future events.

A big thank you to all who took part and to those who gave up their time to ensure the event was a success.
