Rotary Aberdeen Deeside is pleased to announce that our Charity Art Event will once again be held this year on the 21stApril. This year it will be held at Mannofield Church and will be held in the afternoon, doors opening at 1300hrs with the event running from 1400hrs to 1700hrs.
Our local artist this year is Christine Cochrane.
Originally from Kirriemuir now living and working in Aberdeenshire, Christine is a self-taught visual landscape artist. After being made redundant in 2019 Christine decided to realise a lifelong ambition of creating art on a full-time basis.
“During a school trip as a teenager, I fell in love with the Highlands after being introduced to the magic of the Highland scenery. Inspired by the everchanging colours and moods of the landscape I work mainly in watercolours. I paint because I love it and the challenges it brings.”
“I create paintings that reflect the local landscape of our time and I value the fact that these fabulous areas of natural beauty appear to resist man’s onslaught. I believe that art is for everyone.”
Some of Christine's work may be seen here.
More about Christine and her art may be seen at CMCo Art Artwork Website
Christine will paint a picture, from the Grand Ballroom stage, which will also be shown on several large TV screens to the audience. At the end of the event the work will be auctioned off with proceeds going to Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs and other charities.
