This Rotary year 2016 Aberdeen Deeside Rotary Club again sponsored two pupils from Cults Academy to participate in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards held at Abernethy Outdoor Adventure Centre, Nethybridge, Scotland. Interviews were held with a number of school pupils who showed interest in the programme and we selected two pupils whom we considered would gain the most from the leadership training opportunity. The two candidates were Eilidh Smith and Paul Crockford who are in their last year at school. Eilidh and Paul came to our club on Wednesday 14th September 2016 and each gave us a presentation on what they learnt and enjoyed from the experience, the new friends they made , the increased confidence they now have after the event and how they would willingly promote the event at their school for others to participate. They were both presented with a RYLA Certificate of Achievement and are both pictured along with Ros Riungu who was one of the team mentors for the girls week and John Whitfield the Youth and Vocational Convenor Aberdeen Deeside Rotary Club.
