Purple for Polio

RotaKids get their hands dirty for a great cause.

24th October 2024 is world polio day. Earlier that week our Harden Primary School RotaKids got their hands dirty for a great cause — planting purple crocuses to raise awareness for the fight to end polio!

Well done Rotakids - there will be a great display of purple crocuses in front of school this spring, many thanks to Woodbank Nurseries - Harden, Bingley for donating the bulbs and spending time with the children planting them today.

And, purple crocus badges were on sale in school during the week, which raised a magnificent £106.24.Thanks to Rotary's partnership with the Gates Foundation, these generous donations will be matched 2-to-1, turning £106.24 into £318.72. This will enable 1600 vulnerable children to be vaccinated.
