Everyone who saw on their TV screens the devastating pictures coming from Nepal and Tibet will have been affected by the scale of the disaster.

The Rotary Clubs of Bradford West, Shipley and Adventurers decided to act quickly when the news came through, so we got together to see how best we could help those poor people who were affected and had been made homeless. After looking at the various agencies working there, we decided that fresh water was an urgent need and that Aquabox, with whom Rotary has close contacts, are the best placed organisation to help at this time.

Rotary Club of Adventurers and Rotary Club of Bradford West held a collection at Tesco Great Horton Road on August 29 and 30, 2026.raising almost £1000. The Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid project raised more than £2400, and the Rotary Club of Shipley £600, taking the total to just over £4,000.

Through Aquabox, the money raised will provide 180 million litres of clean water to the flood hit families over five years.
