MIND AFTERNOON TEA DANCE, 10 November 2025

Oh, what a wonderful afternoon!

Groups from The Judith Adams Centre, Sage House and MIND were invited  to our biannual Afternoon Tea Dance held at the Westhampnett Community Hall on Monday 10 November 2025.

Over 50 guests enjoyed a scrumptious tea laid on by the members of Chichester Harbour Rotary Club and guests also had the opportunity to purchase Christmas gifts from the craft stall.

After tea attendees were wonderfully entertained by Amy Baker, an award-winning jazz and swing artist.  Amy, who has supported us since we started our afternoon tea dances, is always very popular with all those who attend.  The sense of fun and enjoyment of Amy’s music is infectious and, in no time, people were up and dancing.

Thérèse Brook, who organised the event on behalf of the Club, was once again delighted with how the afternoon turned out, and she was particularly pleased with the feedback she received from attendees.

”On behalf of my friend and her husband John who attends Sage House, we would like to convey our thanks to you all for the outstanding afternoon we have just had at Westhampnett Community Hall!   A Tea Dance but far more than that: a room full of smiles, laughter and fun, an exceptional tea, exceptional entertainment and a lovely raffle!! Thank you so much for all your hard work!!!”

Feedback from The Judith Adams Centre was also extremely positive: “I would like to say a huge thank you to yourself and the Rotary Club for inviting us to their  tea-party on Monday. All our people had a great time  and really enjoyed the food, the music and the dancing. It gave everyone an opportunity to get together and have fun.”

"A little belatedly, I just wanted to express our gratitude for last week's Tea Dance at Westhampnett Community Hall. Once again, our service users, staff and volunteers thoroughly enjoyed the event and had a wonderful afternoon. Feedback from my colleague Julia was very positive. Please pass on our thanks to your Rotary Club colleagues. With great thanks and warmest wishes, Jo"  (Joanna Bulls, Service Manager, Communities in Mind Chichester, Arun & Adur)

Thérèse went on to say that all the Rotarians involved with the event had a good time (some hadn’t done that much washing up in a long time!) as well as feeling they had been involved in such a positive community event.

The Club's next Tea Dance will take place in Spring 2026.

Chichester Harbour Rotary Club is extremely grateful to the Kathleen and Sidney Linkins Memorial Trust for supporting this event financially.
