ROTARY CLUB OF CHICHESTER HARBOUR’S
UNSUNG HERO AWARD - 2024/2025
As well as the Rotary Club’s prestigious Paul Harris Foundation Award (PHF), which recognises members based on the work they do in the community, we have introduced our very own Unsung Hero Award. Recipients of this annual Award are also nominated by fellow Club members, but it is awarded in recognition of those individuals who work quietly behind the scenes with a positive attitude and a willingness to help in any capacity, to a high standard and going the extra mile.
For the 2024/2025 year, the following nominations were received:
· Malcom Danks – for his support in delivering furniture to families in need and offering his home for meetings.
· Elaine Hind – for her continued support of our Community Committee despite her no longer being a member.
· Lucy Hopkins – our one-time President (2015/2016) continues to help by providing excellent catering for many of our events.
· Marian Scott – another Past President who has worked hard chairing and supporting the Youth Committee.
· Linda Smith – for her commitment to organising our stores as well as being the administrative backbone for the Club's Annual Charity Golf Day.
· Mary Turner – for her hard work in the background selling items on eBay, Vinted or at car boot sales while at the same time always giving good support to the Community Committee.
· David Warwick – for his work over many years providing our Club with a wide range of excellent and interesting breakfast speakers.
AND THE WINNER IS
MARY TURNER!
Well done, Mary, and thank you for all your hard work!
