SAGE HOUSE SPORTIVE

Members of Chichester Harbour Rotary Club supported this charity event by taking part in a 50-mile bike ride through the Sussex countryside, between them raising the impressive sum of £3275!

The six riders in our little group - Chichester Harbour Rotarians Mike Hutchins, Neville Lacey, Geoff Chapman, together with co-cyclists John Chaplin, Graham Ellis and Alexandra Moon - completed the hilly Sage House Sportive on Sunday 22nd September 2024 to raise funds for Sage House Dementia Hub based in Tangmere. Three of the cyclists are aged 70+, two are 60+, with the 'baby' of the group, Alex (Graham's daughter) being somewhat younger.

The motorists were all kind to us, as was the weather since it didn't rain, and Bognor Hotham Rotary Club was brilliant in organising the logistics of the event.

Thanks to the generosity of fellow Rotarians, friends, family and work colleagues, our group suceeded in raising an amazing £2717 which, when Gift Aid is added, increased to the fantastic total of £3275 for a great cause. It was a bonus that we were all still smiling and walking at the end of the event...!

Most of us in the group have been touched by this awful disease, and we thank all the donors for their kindness and generosity.
