Rotary Scholars

Investing in our future leaders

The Rotary Foundation and Rotary clubs invest in our future leaders for graduate study.

The Rotary Foundation offers scholarships for college graduates and professionals to study in one of seven areas of focus:

  • Peace and Conflict prevention/resolution
  • Disease prevention and treatment
  • Water and Sanitation
  • Maternal and Child health
  • Basic Education and Literacy
  • Economic and Community Development
  • Supporting the Environment
Misbourne Matins Rotary Club has hosted graduate scholars for several years, coming from various parts of the world.
The candidates are selected by an overseas Rotary Club. They are allocated a host club in the District and then their online application can begin. The host club does not provide any funding. All the funds come from the Rotary Foundation and the International District.
Scholars in our District are mainly in Oxford colleges and on occassions at Brunel and Reading universities.
It is a privilege for the host club to spend time with these bright young people.
The scholar visits the host club on several occasions and keeps the club informed about the progress of their studies and they can take part in club events. They will also speak at other clubs in the district.
Most scholars are supported for one year.

Profiles of the 24 scholars being hosted by our District can be found on the link below:
