Presentation to First Chalfont St Peter Scouts

MMRC president Rob Waters presents a cheque for £750 to Martin Beard, leader of the First Chalfont St Peter Scouts, at their annual barbecue on Sunday 9th September. The  money is part of a package the scouts are close to completing so they can start the overdue restoration of their washrooms, incl. a disabled room, and refurbishment of the kitchens. 

Several MMRC members were shown round the existing centre which caters for about 200 scouts every week making it one of the strongest groups in the area. MMRC members will know the centre as it is where we have been working on restoration of the Christmas float, or cottage. We were impressed with what we saw and discussed offering to run a quiz at their scout centre in the New Year, to raise additional funding for the scouts' building fund, employing the undisputed skills of our club president Rob Waters (quizmaster extraordinaire)
