Tiffany Vogel has been awarded a $23,000 US Academic Scholarship for 2008, provided by the Educational Program of The Rotary Foundation. She is attending Oxford University and studying in Water Science and Management Policy.
Tiffany will complete an honours Chemistry-Biochemistry program in Western's Faculty of Science as well as a BA in Geography with special attention to resource management policy in 2008. She was admitted to Western as a National Scholarship Winner.
During summer following first year of undergraduate study, Tiffany worked in a research lab at Yale University and has since used her summers for research at the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children, where she developed an international collaboration with a leading research institution in Mainz, Germany.
2004 - She was selected as one of Canada's TOP 20 under 20 as a result of her work in the community; she was responsible for creating an "Academic, Sports and Arts" Program in a London (Ontario) public elementary school which attracted over 100 volunteers to promote the physical, social and intellectual development of children through service learning. She was awarded the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal.
2005 - Tiffany was one of four Canadian students to receive the Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Award. She represented Canada and the University of Western Ontario at the Global Leadership Institute in New York. She was selected as one of Glamour Magazine's Top Ten College Women in North America.
2006-07 - She studied at the University of St Andrews in Scotland as a participant in the Bobby T. Jones Scholarship exchange program. During her term break from St Andrews, she returned to Canada to intern with the Council of Canadians in Ottawa, where she worked directly with the National Chairperson Maude Barlow, in research and preparation of Ms Barlow's book on water conservation and international water policies.
