Presidential Handover

The last meeting of the Rotary Year usually only features the Presidential Handover but this year was busier than usual. After our meal and an ode on his year, David Gray announced that the winners of the prize draw for a holiday in Coylumbridge would be drawn.

The holiday was won by Christine Randall-Klee, the second prize of £100 by Senga Hill and the third prize of £50 by Catriona Morris. Well done to them and many thanks to all who supported this project. Over £2000 was raised for the Make a Wish Foundation and Madras College Equity fund. 

David then announced joint winners of the Rotarian of the year award. They were Alice Little and Hugh Elliott. They will each hold the trophy for 6 months and be able to nominate a Charity of their choice to receive £200. Well done both. This award is very well deserved.

Finally came the formal part of the meeting when David handed over the President’s Chain of office to Forbes Lockhart who in turn handed over the President Elect Chain to Alice Little. We wish them both all the best for the new Rotary year.

Finally, in his new role, Forbes thanked David for all his work over the last year and presented him with a Past President’s Badge and a bottle of Highland Park and glasses as a gift. He then formally closed the meeting for the first time as President.
