Two representatives of the Aberlour children’s charity, Ally MacDonald and Susan McKay, who both work in the Angus area, outlined the work of Aberlour in supporting vulnerable children in the community.
The charity, which this year celebrates its 150th birthday, works to alleviate child poverty by helping families trying to cope in challenging circumstances.
It advocates an end school meals debt and aids families which have council tax or rent debt with debt management advice or help from a hardship fund.
Working alongside council social services, Aberlour runs several services including residential, outreach, fostering and disability help.
It also has an urgent assistance fund covering food, utilities clothing and bedding.
Kilrymont president-elect Forbes Lockhart introduced the speakers and Gordon MacKenzie proposed thanks for an illuminating talk.
