Jim Allison gave a talk on Civilisations: Are We Doomed? Jim recounted the various ancient civilisations of the Indus Valley, Egypt and Mesopotamia and how they reached their peak before their eventual demise. Jim also touched on the reasons for the rise and fall of the Roman Empire and civilisations in central and South America before asking whether our present global civilisation is at risk of collapse and destruction. He was introduced by president Gordon Moir and Mike Dow proposed thanks.
