Representatives from TCCL and Maggie's Centre

Presentation to Ian Hamilton and Lindsay Alexander by Duty President, Brian Gray

Duty President Brian Gray was delighted to certificates of support to representatives of two charities, TCCL (Tayside & NE Fife Children with Cancer & Leukaemia) and Maggie’s Centre. Both of these charities had been named beneficiaries of the Autumn Charity Golf Competition in October 2023.

Lindsey Alexander spoke about the role TCCL plays in providing support and holidays for children and their families. Their mission is to support local children in Tayside and NE Fife with grants and a safe haven at their specially adapted house in Horsley’s Park.

Ian Hamilton, a volunteer at Maggie’s Centre at Ninewells, spoke about the role the Centre plays supporting those diagnosed with cancer and also their families. He stressed the facility was open to all to drop in for a cup of tea and a cake.

The two Charities are self funded and require hundreds of thousands of pounds to keep going, and are always grateful for donations of whatever size. Of course, they are always looking for volunteers!   Stephen Bennie gave the vote of thanks.
