Hugh Elliott on Health and Social Care Integration in Fife

Tue, Jan 19th 2021 at 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Reception - Irene Walker

Member Hugh Elliot gave an interesting and insightful talk on health and social care integration from an accountant’s perspective. Having been involved in the integration Hugh was able to inform us of the vast cost of bed blocking against the costs of community and home care. He also discussed some of the complexities of bringing two of the largest authorities together , how it is managed, and the changing needs and costs of the health and social care as they move forward together.

The talk was well received by the members and vote of thanks was given by Irene Walker who echoed the members' view to this being an appropriate talk in regards to what is happening at the moment.
