Special General Meeting

Tue, Nov 17th 2020 at 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Reception - Eric Fraser,
Menu choices - Davdi Sandford

31 members attended the Zoom Meeting on 20th Nov, presided over by President Jim Allison. The meeting started with small breakout groups of 5-6 members to allow for pre-business socialising. Common topics in the groups were Covid and Scotland's football success over Serbia; other topics in the group attended by your correspondent included interesting tales on managing overnight caravan owners on the West Sands (placing bread on caravan roofs of reluctant movers to seek assistance of the seagulls was particularly amusing). Following the breakouts, we had the usual charity Happy Pound, which included many contributions for the football success, useful tips on removing dents from a pine table, and a winning bet on the Masters Golf last weekend.

The main business of the evening followed which was the annual Special General Meeting to elect the main officer bearers for 2021-22 and approve the Club Accounts for 2019-20.  Mike Dow was confirmed as President for 2021-22 , Irene Walker for 2022-23 and Marilyn Rowan Rhind   for 2023-24. Grace Morris accepted re-election as Admin Secretary and Gordon Rhind as Treasurer. The post of Meeting Secretary was left open to be filled later, following election of incumbent as President Nominee. The Accounts presented by the Treasurer were approved by the members.  There being no other competent business, the meeting was closed with the usual Rotary International toast.
