Summer Sandcastle Competition

A glorious sunny morning drew a large number of contestants to the West Sands for the first summer sandcastle competition of 2018,

The competition is sponsored and run by the Rotary Club of Kilrymont St Andrews and the Cosmos Centre and will take place on each Friday of the school holidays.

Individuals, groups and families spent a couple of busy hours constructing an interesting variety of sandcastles. Towards the conclusion, judges Councillors Jane Anne Liston and Anne Verner examined the creations before deciding on winners.
The individual prize went to Frederick Butcher, while the well-deserved Group Prize was awarded to Lily and Isabella Davie.

A number of other prizes were presented to the runners-up.
