East Sands Sandcastle Competitions 2026

Sadly our final sandcastle competition of 2026 took place on the East Sands on Thursday 13th August. 

Over 300 young people (and a few not so young) took part over the 6 weeks.

We hope to see many of those who took part this year agin next summer when we return to the sands for another summer of fun.

All proceeds went to the Cosmos Center, St Andrews.

Special thanks go to the Cheesy Toast Shack and Surf's Up who donated the weekly prizes.

REPORT ON SANDCASTLE COMPETITION NUMBER 6 (13.8.26)

Another beautiful day dawned for our last on 13th August for our final sandcastle competition of the summer.

More than 50 youngsters took part with the usual enthusiasm, energy and imagination.

The two prize winning teams were Team Pikachu who built, surprisingly enough, a huge depiction of the said Pikachu and Isla, Neave and Aaron built a very lifelike horse.

Each received a voucher for a treat of donuts (Pikachu) or ice cream (Horse).

All participants received an ice cream courtesy of the Cheesy Toast Shack.

We are extremely grateful to both Surfs up and the Cheesy Toast Shack for their support for these competitions throughout the summer.

Special mention this week must go to Team Tie Dye - Theodore, Ruben and Barnaby - who along with their daddy turned up in Tie Dyed T Shirts which they proudly announced they had made with their Mummy and Daddy, thus saving some old T shirts from landfill. Well done boys they look great!
