This will be our tenth duck race. This will be the first year we have actually launched the ducks from Victoria Park as part of Party in the Park. The money raised will go towards local charity events later in the year.
Tickets were sold prior to the event and during Sunday morning. Party in the Park was well supported by local people. It was so nice to see families sitting and having picnics, children participating in races, paint facing and many other activities. The sun shone and it was a pleasure to be part of the day.
This year Stafford Leisure part sponsored the event which we greatly appreciated and look forward to working with them again.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Stafford Borough attended the day and participated in the launch of the ducks. There were plenty of spectators to will them down the river. yet again our duck wardens herded them down the river to the mill wheel, where they were resuced from the water.
Winners will be notified in the next couple of days.
There are some fabulous photos that have been put on the facebook site, so do have alook.
