A fun way to start the New Year.
On New Year's Day families, couples and individuals form Crowthorne, Sandhurst , Bracknell and Wokingham are again invited to join in a pleasant walk around the grounds of Wellington College, Crowthorne. This event is organised by the Rotary Clubs of Crowthorne, Sandhurst , Bracknell and Wokingham.
Venue: Wellington College, Dukes Ride Crowthorne, RG45 6DP Limited parking available within the college as directed by parking marshalls .
The walk also includes the fun Children's Trail quiz where themed pictures have to be located and identified.to keep the younger one's occupied along the way .
Dog walkers are welcome though we do request that pooch is kept on a lead ( bring poo bage please ) .
Refreshments will be available and we plan to offer also Bacon Rolls once more this year .
The event is open from 10:30 to 14:00 however please note with the last walk commencing at 13:00 ..The route is roughly two miles and takes walkers though various parts of the College Grounds including paved routes and woodland tracks. The route is considered buggy friendly and a partial route is available for wheel chair visitors.
Entrance Fee: Entry to the Rotary walk is £5.00 on the day payable at event registration desk for adults/young adults; children 11 years and under have free entrance.
Beneficiaries of this event: Funds raised from the walk will be donated to our designated charities, and particularly this year Thames Valley Air Ambulance. Rotary club members and volunteers organize the event. Previous recipients of donations from the Rotary club from proceeds of the event have included Alexander Devine Childrens Hospice in Maidenhead, DEBRA in Bracknell, Sebastian's Action Trust Crowthorne facility and Thames Valley Hospice in Windsor.
In the event of particularly adverse weather again ,walkers are advised to keep an eye on the respective Club’s website and Facebook pages for any updates It is also buggy-friendly and an alternative limited route available for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
