The Rotary Club of Crowthorne, Sandhurst and Bracknell is pleased to announce that our recent Service of Nine Lessons and Carols has successfully raised an incredible £2,500 which will be donated to the charity The Cowshed.
Our photograph shows Club President Richard Lindo handing over a cheque to Rebecca Mole, Fundraising Manager for The Cowshed.
Raising this amount would not have been possible without the overwhelming generosity of those who attended our service as well as those who made our service possible. We would like to thank Wellington College, the Cecilia Singers, Stuart McSweeney, the Revd John Castle and our volunteers. Without their support our service would not have been possible.
When we contacted Wellington College and the Cecilia Singers to advise them of the money raised and thanking them for their support they replied.
“Wellington College is committed to supporting the expertise and energy of the charities and groups that help make Crowthorne such a vibrant community.”
“The Rotary Club of Crowthorne, Sandhurst & Bracknell’s 9 Lessons and Carols, has been a highlight in the Cecilia Singers calendar for some time. We are always delighted to be asked to sing in this special service in the magnificent surroundings of Wellington College and help raise much needed funds for charity.”
A little about The Cowshed.
The Cowshed, Wokingham, is a compassionate charity dedicated to providing support to individuals and families in times of personal crisis. Their mission is to offer good quality, cleaned, and ironed clothing and other essential items free of charge to those in need.
They support people of all backgrounds, including those facing domestic abuse, emergency rehousing, health-related poverty, homelessness, and emergency custody situations. The Cowshed also provides school uniforms, bedding, curtains, baby equipment, and other essentials.
And finally.
Thank you to those who attended our service and for helping the Rotary Club of Crowthorne, Sandhurst and Bracknell to help those who need a little extra help at Christmas. We hope you will support our events in the future.
