What a successful impact day at Burntisland Primary School and Nursery. We met so many children and left books for others due to a visit from the Firefighters -Can't compete with a FIRE ENGINE VISIT. members collected over 500 pre-used, cherished books to distribute for the children to choose, take home and keep. Our thanks go once again to the school for allowing us to take forward this project and to all the staff who helped on the day. Our aim if this is successful is to move on to the next school in our community and repeat this action.
By taking part in this project, Rotary is helping children to develop the literacy skills and imagination by providing them with the opportunity to read at home, as well as supporting the environment- 13 million plus books per year go to landfill !
