The Rotary Club of Grantham Kesteven District 1070 helps individuals, families, and businesses to become self-sufficient with the aid of custom-made Trade Aid Boxes.

The Boxes

Each of our trade boxes contains specially selected supplies aimed at a particular trade to provide people with a head start in recovering from a disaster, or other adversity, or to start working for themselves for the first time.

Trade Aid provides Boxes of new tools and equipment to enable people in remote areas to resume, or start earning a living and start a business.

These people may have lost their means of earning a living due to a natural or man-made disaster or may have left school at an early stage without having learnt a trade.

The initial six Boxes were: Builder, Carpenter, Blacksmith, Mechanic, Tailor/Seamstress and Teacher. A Handyman Box was later added and customised Boxes can be provided to meet special needs.

The organisations receiving the Boxes are carefully selected to ensure that the Boxes are collected and used by those we know will put them to good use.

Since the scheme was started in 2007 Trade Aid has supplied 1100 Boxes for 200 Projects in 35 Countries.

Stainborough Rotary Club is very active in the community, supporting worthy causes such as Centrepoint, Silkstone Scout Camp and Young People’s leadership programme. The Club also helps Santa with his Sleigh every Christmas.

Enthusiastic volunteers helping to create the vital water borehole. Water = life !!

We have close links, over many years, with Ho in Ghana. We have helped to fund the building of a Women's Co-operative, a Rotary Community Hall, a Street Children's centre, a water borehole and now the building of a sand dam.

Stainborough raises funds for charities through organising events, Sponsorship, car boot & table top sales, competitions and selling merchandise.

Stainborough is a friendly club with lots of well supported events throughout the year. Some are 'just for fun', whilst others raise money for good causes at the same time.
