Geoff Pickerel (left) and Pete Stevenns (right) ready to depart on the third leg of their journey on Wednesday 11th Sept. They arrived the previous evening from Barnstaple two hours after their original ETA due to the heavy rain encountered en route. We rigged up a drying room for their clothes so they were able to set off next day with everything back to normal. Margaret served up a warming casserole followed by her bread and butter pudding, shared by Marin and Christine Lunt, and Andrew Priichard, who arrived on his motorbike. There was a lively conversation over dinner largely around the work being done by the two clubs , the amazing work Pete has done to establish the Newton Abbott Shed, especially the woodworking equipment and, unsurprisingly, motorbikes.

This will be their last night on the road, overnighting in Newark before finishing tomorrow back in Newton Abbott. They are hoping to raise £5k and were up to nearly £3k when they set off from Dorrington. Please help our septuagenarian bikers surpass their £5000 target by contributing on their CAF Donate page at https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/26757
