The International Committee’s Objectives for 2020/2021.
1. Continue to manage the club's "Lend with Care" portfolio which is lending monies to Entrepreneurs in the "Third World" - when the LwC scheme comes out of Covid 19 hibernation.
In addition we will continue to :-
i) maintain a maximum portfolio risk limit of 10% of the the Club's LwC fund to Zimbabwean entrepreneurs. We note the Zimbabwean Government is stopping them accessing hard currency to make repayments and we wish to ensure that all the schemes, which are LwC certified and worthy of charitable support, do not result in "Non-Performing" or even "Written-off" loans.
ii) make a maximum 1% payment (linked to the underlying loan) directly to LwC via the website "giving" option to support LwC as an organisation.
2. In partnership with Village Water, we will arrange a "Themed
Disco" - to be held during Q4 2020, at the Radbrook Community Centre. The
proceeds of the evening will be split 50/50 with Village Water and Rotary
charities.
3. In partnership with Village Water, we will arrange the annual Rotary Ceilidh to be held during early Q1 2021. The proceeds of the evening will be split 50/50 with Village Water and Rotary charities.
4.The Committee will investigate the possibility of holding a "Story Telling Evening" along the lines of a similar, very successful and highly entertaining event attended by a member of the committee a few years ago. A professional "Story Teller" will be hired - details to follow. The event will be scheduled for 2021 as a charity event.
