Cookridge Village Hall proved the ideal venue for Aireborough Rotary's imaginative 'Ceilidh for Carers Leeds', President Alicia's Charity of the year. Seventy enthusiastic participants took to the floor to be mentored through five different dances by the musician turned caller for the night, Heather, in tune with the music of the very professional and patient Capstick Ceilidh Band.
There were naturally several good humoured false starts but occasional confusion was part of the fun in meeting fleetingly a constantly changing procession of friendly partners.
A well earned half time provided the opportunity to enjoy a well organised choice of hot food provided by Rotary and Inner Wheel members and their partners.
When Stephen Taylor, CEO of Carers Leeds attends the weekly meeting of Aireborough Rotary on 17 February he will be made aware that the current total from several events including £1003 from the successful Ceilidh now stands at £1739 with power to add before the Rotary year ends on 30 June.
