Having attended meetings for several weeks both Bilal and Phil applied to join the Club. Raj Mani was Bilal's nominee and Jan Morley was Phil's. Both looked forward to becoming involved in the Club's activities and gradually getting to know the Club's members
Andrew Wilson summarised the projects and events Brian Hall had become involved in, many organised in his own garden. Meat Pie was the star in several but there were also garden wanders, quizzes, games events and even 'come dressed as a tube station'.
Brian's garage had seen deliveries of large numbers of Dictionaries4Life and he had attended presentations at Rufford School. Sal's Shoes also found their way to his house. He was a crucial member at fetes, fairs and Rodley's Easter Egg Hunt - gazebos his speciality.
He introduced the Hug on a Tray charity to the Club having come across them on his visits to St James Hospital. But whatever event the Club set up Brian was an early volunteer to any list or rota. Over the last two years he galvanised the Club in a drive to increase ticket sales for the Hepworh Brass Band Concert encouraging members to visit places where potential audience members met or lived and covered many miles himself
He epitomised Service above Self and certainly deserved his Paul Harris Fellowship.
