The Yorkshire Womens' Forum.

Shazia and Guishan summarised in a most interesting presentation the work of their Community Interest Company (CIC). Their organisation supports women through creative workshops and sustainability-focussed projects aiming to enable the group to nurture their mental health and wellbeing. They are based at Manningham Mills, Bradford and have an average of 20 ladies attending each session. They brought along some of their hand-made clothing made from recycled materials such as denim, curtains and silk fabrics. Guishan will let us know about the next Pop-Up Sale so that members will be able to give it their support.

They are hoping to starty making items for Period Poverty and will be invited to come along to Aireborough Rotary's Yorkits sessions run by Janet Kerr and her team of sewers. They have also recently had a request to start up a young mens' support group.

At the end of the meeting they presented Freda Irving with a beautiful garment which will be either raffled or auctioned at our forthcoming Charter Dinner on the 27th October in aid of the Nepal tragedy.
