International

We aim to support projects in countries which aim to improve health standards and the economic wellbeing of people.

This is a small committee which mainly is involved in co-operating with Rotary Clubs abroad in arranging to support projects in the Third World, often of an Educational or Health improvement nature,  and often with financial assistance from the Rotary Foundation which is Rotary's own word-wide charity.

One of our more recent successes is Lendwithcare (www.lendwithcare.org) - an international 'micro-finance' organisation which provides low-cost loans to entreprenneurs in developing countries. The sums involved can be as little as £50 to get a small enterprise off the ground.  St George's now has a well-developed 'portfolio' of successful businesses and we continue to re-invest the returns for other budding businesses.
