The "Old Folks" Drive Out
Every year Abbeydale take residents from care homes out to Derbyshire
Each year, our members play their part in helping the local community by collecting residents from various care homes around the Sheffield and taking them for a drive around North Derbyshire, ending up at the Grouse Inn near the Longshaw Estate, for a fish and chip supper. Some of our guests were indeed younger than some of our members, but most lack the opportunity to get out and meet other people. A good meal and good friendship are enjoyed by all.
