Each year all Rotary clubs in Cumbria and Lancashire are asked to put forward candidates to take part in the Rotary Young Chef competition.
For many years Dowdales School at Dalton has put forward entrants and our club is proud to say that one of this year’s chefs won the District competition.
Lily Rowland’s meal consisted of stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon, dauphinoise potatoes and asparagus, followed by clotted cream with home made biscuits garnished with raspberries.
Lily now goes through to the regional final, which will be held in Carlisle on 21st March.
The club would like to thank wholesale food distributors McClures for their sponsorship, and Dowdales teacher Louisa Gibson, who has supported the competition for 18 years.
