Club helps to fund Nurture Nest

Special needs Children benefit

The objective of the Nurture Nest is to provide special needs children with holistic, comprehensive and effective intervention programs so that they can achieve development to their best ability.

St. Pius School is also developing a sensory garden which will be a great space for children to work in small groups to develop their emotional literacy and resilience.

All staff concerned are in the process of receiving training and advice through outreach support and from the school's specialist advisory teacher for social and emotional mental health.

Photo shows St. Pius' headteacher Kevin McGoldrick receiving a cheque for £500 towards the Nurture Nest from club President Nigel assisted by members of the Rotary Club of Furness.

Kevin explained to members how vital the facility is to the school.  The initiative is also being supported by the Rotary Club of Furness Peninsula.
