Who said Rotary is dull?
That was far from the case when Vickers Shooting Club made us very welcome at one of our occasional ‘out nights’.
After a safety briefing we chose our weapons and proceeded to blast away in groups of four.
We had a choice of airguns or pukka rifles, the latter being in single shot format or multi shot magazines and our instructors were very knowledgeable and patient.
Scores varied and seemed to favour those who chose to sit down.
After a thoroughly enjoyable shooting session we moved upstairs to the bar as the pies were ready!
Climbing up the stairs to the bar, we could smell the warming meat and potato pies, gravy and mushy peas. There was also a cheesy option for any vegetarians.
Several people took advantage of the offer to help themselves to the spares. Talk about ‘who ate all the pies?’
A great evening in great company and thanks to all at Hawcoat Park who made it possible.
