"I could write reams and reams about Roy selecting a truly magnificant menu , ordering the food ,collecting delivering and storing it , the hours (and hours and hours and hours ) of preparation ,the borrowing of tables ,chairs , bbqs ,gazebos garden games etc and the logistical nightmares of transporting it all to the hotel ,spread over 2 and 1/2 days and setting it all up on one of the worst days of the year ,the cooking and serving of a mountain of food spread over about a 5 hour period and then dismantling everything outside , to it get inside my function room in weather conditions that were getting worst with every passing minute and then the transport nightmare in reverse to return everything that had been borrowed .
Instead I would just like to say that a small but enthusiastic team led by Roy coped with everything that was asked of them (including learning new skills) and provided everybody who attended with a really enjoyable day of Friendship and Fellowship and an eating experience that will be talked about for a long time to come and a big thank you from me (and Albert my chef) for all the clearing up and cleaning that went on "to leave the kitchen as they found it" and even after a 9--12 hour day it was great to hear the team talk about the days events and wonder what sort of SOCIAL was going to be done next .Thanks for a great day
Peter
