Having decided to move the outmeeting to the 22nd (from 29th) because food was available, we got our tickets...some of us thought we would travel to and from Ulverston...well yes you can but return time would be 04:00 the next day.
Instead got a lift to and from Barrow departing just after 6 pm on the 20 minute trip returning just after 10 pm.
At the pub we got tucked into a room with a blazing fire and were told it was our job to keep it roaring. Then selected our ales, most opting for a light ale brewed on the premises although Roy was more adventurous and finished with a very strong Barley wine which tasted a little like sherry.
Halfway through the evening the landlord served supper - an excellent mix of pizza , sandwiches, chips and roast potatoes so hot they burnt your mouth and all for nowt ! Could not believe it ! Whilst we did entertain ourselves with the triangular dominoes a group of musicians proceeded to jam and first class they were to.
