Award to teacher who has helped Rotary Young Chef competition

President Nigel and Past President Martin had the privilege and honour to visit Dowdales school to present DT Teacher Louisa Gibson with a well-earned Honorary Membership of the Rotary Club of Furness.

Louisa was presented with a framed certificate, name badge and lapel pin and invited for a meal at one of our future meetings.

Louisa has helped the club to liaise with pupils in the Rotary Young Chef competition for the past 20 years.

During that time the school teams have won several local and district finals, covering Cumbria and Lancashire. 

A few years ago a Dowdales team also made the national final.

Louisa has also helped pupils to take part in the Rotary Textile Technology competition.

Lousia was surprised and thrilled to receive the accolade and thanked the club for the honour.
