The three Rotary Clubs in Rugby will host Santa’s Grotto
Santa and his Elves will be in his Grotto Rugby Central on Sunday 30th November, from 2.00 p.m. until 6.00 p.m. to coincide with the Rugby Fire and Ice Event which is taking place nearby in Rugby’s town centre.
He will then be in residence between 10:30 and 15:30 every weekend in December (6-7, 13-14, 20- 21) and Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd December.
The Grotto will be based in the precinct opposite Shine A Light.
Entry to Santa’s Grotto will be free. However, only children accompanied by a responsible adult will be invited into the Grotto. Santa will chat to the children for a few minutes and give each child a small chocolate gift or a book. One of the Elves will have asked the responsible adult if a child has any allergies and this will determine what is given.
Visitors to the grotto can donate in aid of the local charities chosen this year by the 3 club Presidents which are OURJAY Foundation, Tools with a Mission (TWAM), the Ukrainian Community in Rugby, Shelter Box and a local women’s Refuge.
Any donations will be gratefully received. In the spirit of Rotary’s move to be seen as a more modern organisation we will have a QR Code as well as buckets for cash!
Santa and the Elves will be available to pose for photos taken by the responsible adult but will not take any photos themselves.
Project manager Willy Goldschmidt commented “It is great that the three clubs are working together on this and we are delighted to return the Grotto to Rugby Central. We are most grateful for the support that we have received from Linda Lowne of Rugby First and the many local companies who have donated gifts for Santa to distribute.”
