Youth Programmes

Rotary International of Great Britain and Ireland runs a number of activities nationwide that we support. These enable our youth to enjoy challenges, develop strong bonds of friendship, and help them to realise their hopes, dreams and expectations.

  •    Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) – residential courses aimed at the leaders of tomorrow.

RYLA emphasizes leadership, citizenship, and personal growth, and aims to:

o    Demonstrate Rotary’s respect and concern for youth
o    Provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders
o    Encourage leadership of youth by youth
o    Recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their community

•    Young Artist
Share your creative talents with a wide audience by taking part in the Young Artist competition. Express yourself with your interpretation of a given theme and submit a piece of artwork (two dimensional please). The paintings are exhibited at our Art Exhibition. This competition is open to artists aged between 7and 17.

•    Young Writer
This competition offers participants a chance to express themselves and get creative with the written word. After being given a theme, participants can choose to write fiction or non-fiction, a story, or a poem. It is a chance to be imaginative.
