In the Community

Within Reading and the surrounding areas, we carry out, and have carried out, a range of different activities and projects with the aim of helping improve quality of life.

Senior Citizens' Party

We seek to maintain a Club tradition built up over many years of providing a balanced programme of support to a wide spectrum of community activities.


Covid-19 - our response

As we have not been meeeting face to face, our members have donated just over £8200 to ReadiFood as a result of meetings costs not incurred
From our charity account funded the purchase of a 3D printer and materials for visors made by Reading UTC and funded the materials for a local sewing group making scrubs
Assisted with the delivery of numerous food packages


Other projects include:

  • Annual Senior Citizens’ Party
  • Assisting at Pangbourne Primary School Fireworks Display
  • Dragon Boat Racing to raise funds
  • Providing help with the Pangbourne Village Fete
  • Fund raising with an Arts Exhibition and Sale of paintings by local artists
  • Donations have been made to various charities including – The Prostate Cancer Charity, Breast Cancer Care, Alzheimer’s Society, Sue Ryder, Naomi House, Thames Valley Ambulance

The Rotary Foundation is Rotary’s own charity which funds projects throughout the world. We carry out a range of international programmes and activities, designed to help our members to reach out to the people in need worldwide.

Rotary International of Great Britain and Ireland runs a number of activities nationwide that we support. These enable our youth to enjoy challenges, develop strong bonds of friendship, and help them to realise their hopes, dreams and expectations.
