The Rotary Club of Skipton Craven Membership Options

Full Membership

You must be aged 18 or over to be a Full Member of The Rotary Club of Skipton Craven.  You will pay club dues (currently £110 pa) and be expected to attend regular weekly meetings and become fully engaged in giving service to the local community through fundraising and various projects.

You will be encouraged to suggest new project ideas and will also be eligible to vote on Club matters. 

The Club meets weekly at Skipton Golf Club, 6.00pm for 6.30 pm; a two-course meal is provided (currently £20), drinks are available for purchase at the bar.  

Friends of Rotary 

‘Friends of Rotary’ is for those, aged 18 or over, who cannot make the commitment to being a member of Rotary but are willing to volunteer to assist the two Skipton Rotary Clubs with their various fundraising events and local community projects throughout the year.  

Friends of Rotary are not Rotarians.   You will not be required to pay dues nor attend Club meetings, but you will be fully insured when acting on behalf of Rotary, and will be provided with a Rotary high-vis jacket.

Your name will be added to our list of Friends, and you will be notified of any event where we need your assistance.  If you choose to volunteer for an event, all we ask is that you turn up on the day!

Satellite Club

A Satellite club gives members of the community, aged 18 or over, the chance to make a positive difference in a more relaxed environment, albeit you will still be a Rotarian, under the watchful eye of The Rotary Club of Skipton Craven (the Sponsor Club).

Meetings can be held at a chosen location when and as members wish; you can choose your own projects, while at the same time providing support to the Sponsor club for their activities.  

A satellite club can be started with just eight members, attending regular (but not necessarily weekly) meetings, have bylaws, a management board and club dues, and get involved in community service projects.

E-Club

If meeting for face-to-face meetings at a brick and mortar location isn’t what you’re looking for, or doesn’t work around your schedule, then a Rotary e-Club may be the perfect fit for you.

Club meetings are held online via video call, under the same terms as those for the Satellite Club.  You still get a chance to know your fellow members, but you can connect from anywhere in the world.

This offers the perfect flexibility for those who are frequently on the go, or those who lead a particularly busy lifestyle, but still want to give back to the community.

Just like the Satellite Club, the  e-Club still comes together with The Rotary Club of Skipton Craven for hands-on projects, volunteering and community activities, to improve the lives of others.

Corporate Membership 

Recognising the growing importance that businesses place on Corporate Social Responsibility, the Club has created a Corporate Membership option for Businesses, professional practices, government entities and educational institutions. 

The senior employees of any such organisation in Skipton may be eligible for Corporate Membership.  A senior manager will be the Primary Member while up to 2 others may be designated as Alternates with the option of attending Meetings either for themselves or on behalf of the Primary Member.   

The Terms for Corporate Membership are the same as those for Full Membership. 

Business/Charity Partnership

As a local business or charity, you may choose to enter into a Partnership with The Rotary Club of Skipton Craven to share ideas, volunteers, resources and fundraising activities, for the good of the people of Skipton and surrounding villages.   

When required, your Volunteers will be invited to assist The Rotary Club of Skipton Craven with their community fundraising activities and events; alternatively, when required Members of The Rotary Club of Skipton Craven will be invited to provide support for a Partner’s fundraising activities and events.

The Club welcomes members regardless of their gender, race, colour, creed, national origin or sexual orientation.
