This year 5 schools took part in the annual Shoebox Scheme - Kings Meadow Primary School, Ainsdale, Ainsdale St John, Bishop David Sheppard, Churchtown Primary School and Marshside Primary School.
An intrepid band of hardy Rotarians braved the icy conditions to collect a total of 403 shoeboxes which were duly delivered to Tinternation Aid Trust at Nuch Hoole, and followed by a vwey welcome brew and butty at Tootsies.
Many thanks to all the school staff, pupils and parents who joined in this year. The boxes will be shipped to orphanages and childrens homes in Eastern Europe to bring a little festive cheer to some children who otherwise would receive nothing for Christmas. WELL DONE all involved.
Rotarians Dave Collinson, John Bambery, President John Doyle, Bob Theckston, Klaus Sedat and Robin Carter with 403 shoeboxes, stacked and ready to go at International Aid warehouse in Much Hoole.
