Rotary's Young Writer 2018 competition

The standard of entries in the first round of the competition, which was organised by the Ipswich Wolsey Rotary Club, was exceptionally high. The winners from the two age groups were Melissa Delgado and Francesca Pickering, and they were presented with prizes and certificates by the President of Wolsey Rotary Club, Trevor Clarke. In the next stage of the competition, Melissa Delgado was awarded second place in her age group, which was an excellent achievement.

Sandra Bennett Head of English at Chantry Academy said that the competition provided an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate their writing skills for a wider audience and to gain confidence and enjoyment in the writing process.

Rotary President Trevor Clarke added his congratulations to all the participants and said that the competition was designed to encourage young people to develop their creative writing skills, and that this year’s entries from Chantry Academy were very impressive.
