The Chelwood Bridge Community Committee is planning to launch a ‘pilot’ programme at the Pensford Primary School in November 2019 to promote business literacy.
As the UK is way behind in financial awareness in young people this 4 week exercise aims to promote the value of money and how to manage a simple business.
Pensford School will engage 18 of the eldest pupils to form 4 teams and our Rotary Club will provide a loan to each team of £15 as seed capital. After the 4 week period the team that raises the most money, after repaying the loan, will win the Business Cup.
We will also offer certificates for the best group name and logo, and for the best advertising materials and selling initiatives.
Rotary club members will be involved along the way to help and encourage the teams to develop their product/service ideas, budgeting and sales ideas.
If this ‘pilot’ programme is successful our Committee will consider rolling it out to other schools in the area.
